25% of drivers could be invalidating their cover with lies

According to a recent report around 25% of motorists in Britain could be invalidating their insurance cover by lying on their applications. Around a quarter of drivers have admitted to lying on their applications for UK car insurance, and this could mean that many could find that their insurance is invalid if they try to claim and the lie is discovered. Fine for uninsured drivers has fallen

A recent report has shown that since Labour came into power the fines imposed on uninsured drivers by courts have fallen by over 20%, and courts are now being slated for being too soft on those driving without any vehicle insurance cover. According to recent figures the fines imposed on uninsured drivers in 2005 were an average of £177 whereas in 1997 the fine was an average of £224. The figures come from the Home Office. read more »
